Air Fryer Onion Rings

Air Fryer Onion Rings

Ingredients:
2 large onions, sliced into rings
1 cup almond flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for some heat)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 large eggs
1 cup crushed pork rinds or grated Parmesan cheese (instead of breadcrumbs)
Cooking spray or olive oil in a spray bottle
Instructions:
Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Onions: Peel and slice the onions into rings. Separate the rings and set them aside.
Prepare the Coating Station:
In one bowl, combine the almond flour, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.
In another bowl, beat the eggs.
Place the crushed pork rinds or grated Parmesan cheese in a third bowl.
Coat the Onion Rings:
Take each onion ring and dip it into the almond flour mixture, making sure it’s evenly coated.
Next, dip the coated ring into the beaten eggs.
Finally, coat the ring in crushed pork rinds or Parmesan cheese, pressing them onto the surface to adhere.
Arrange in the Air Fryer Basket:
Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with oil.
Place the coated onion rings in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they are not touching.
Air Fry:
Cook the onion rings in the preheated air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Keep an eye on them to ensure they reach your desired level of crispiness.
Serve:
Once the onion rings are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the air fryer.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sugar-free ketchup, aioli, or ranch dressing.
