These Blackened Shrimp Tacos are packed with spicy and zesty flavors and are easy to make in less than 20 minutes! Tender shrimp are cooked perfectly in the air fryer and topped with homemade slaw for a festive spin on taco night.

Ingredients

Blackened Shrimp Ingredients

  • 1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Slaw Ingredients

  • 3 cups cabbage slaw mix
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1-2 tablespoons pickled jalapenoschopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons mayonnaiseas needed
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • salt and pepper to taste

For the Tacos

  • 8-12 six-inch tortillasflour, corn, or low carb
  • lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Pat the thawed shrimp dry with a paper towel. Toss the shrimp with oil and spices until well coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 3 minutes. Add the shrimp to the air fryer in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer you may need to do this in batches. Fry the shrimp for 4 minutes, then flip and cook an additional 2-4 minutes. The cooking time will depend on how large your shrimp are. The shrimp is done when it is no longer opaque and has reached an internal temperature of 120 degrees F
  • While the shrimp is cooking combine the slaw ingredients, set aside.
  • Assemble the tacos by adding the shrimp to warm tortillas and topping with slaw.

Notes

If using keto friendly tortillas recommended above three tacos has 6 net carbs.
